SIERRA’s Annual Townhall Meeting 2023 Celebrates Success and Sets Goals for the Future

It has been a year of remarkable growth and achievement, and we were delighted to gather again for the eagerly anticipated SIERRA Annual Townhall Meeting!

Building on the tremendous success of our previous gathering, the team convened on 13 May 2023 at the prestigious Hotel Radisson Blu on Avinashi Road in Coimbatore. With a vibrant theme of “Connecting for Success,” the day brimmed with excitement, and a celebratory mood prevailed, the highlight being a shared commitment to propelling our company to new heights.

The Annual Townhall Meeting was a pivotal platform for SIERRA to reflect on its achievements and set a clear direction for the future. The venue was abuzz with anticipation as attendees eagerly engaged in informative sessions and captivating activities.

The day began with an invigorating general quiz session conducted by Mrs. Sivashankari, Sr. Manager – HR, Admin & Accounts and Mr. Venkatesh, Senior Technical Writer. The engaging session set the tone for the rest of the event, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and friendly competition among the attendees.

Taking the stage, Mr. Giridhar JG, CEO and Managing Director of SIERRA, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the company’s evolution and future vision. Amidst his insightful talk, he took pride in acknowledging the significant milestone of completing 25 years (Silver Jubilee). He emphasized the organization’s mission and highlighted key achievements and milestones from the previous fiscal year.

Subsequently, Mr. Manoj Jaikrishnan, Director – Operations, delivered an insightful presentation encompassing various aspects of SIERRA’s strategic growth plans. He started by providing an overview of the company’s M&A interests and the status of those received in the previous financial year. In addition, he delved into the valuation possibilities for software companies, shedding light on the potential ESOP valuation opportunities specifically for SIERRA. Building on this, he outlined the organization’s M&A strategy for 2023-24, highlighting the anticipated M&A opportunities.

The event also featured many perceptive presentations by various teams within the organization, showcasing their contributions and advancements in their respective domains. Each team outlined its mission statement for the upcoming year of 2023-24.

Mr. Subhash Bhaskaran, Head of Sales and Marketing, delivered an informative presentation, providing valuable updates on new client acquisitions, highlighting the growth achievements of the previous financial year (2022-2023), and presenting ambitious sales targets for the current year (2023-2024).

Additionally, the attendees had the opportunity to learn more about the innovative software solutions developed by SIERRA. Mr. Madhan Kumar, Director, and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), introduced ChatGPT, an advanced conversational AI system, and elucidated its transformative potential in shaping the future business landscape.

The eFACiLiTY^® team, led by Mr. Vadivel, Director of Portfolios and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), delivered an engaging presentation, showcasing the latest updates and enhancements to our advanced facility management software after an introduction video.

Mr. Madhan Kumar P, Director, and Chief Technology Officer, along with Mr. Raguvaran, provided a fact-filled presentation on the key implementations of our Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS). The session included informative videos demonstrating the operational functionality of AS/RS as showcased by two esteemed clients. They also provided a concise overview of integration partners and other pertinent aspects of our company.

The event recognized the achievements of the software development, mobile development, and testing teams. Mr. Gangadhar, Senior Project Manager, shed light on the pioneering concepts and notable advancements in software development facilitated by esteemed tools such as Power Automate, Power BI, and our proprietary utilities, including API Builder/Consumer, Form Builder, and Code replacement utilities. He underscored the instrumental role of ChatGPT in code generation, optimization, debugging, and training, further augmenting our software development processes.

Also, he highlighted the successful implementations of our esteemed eFACiLiTY^® Smart Facility App and other crucial applications meticulously designed by the eFACiLiTY^® mobile team.

Following that, Mr. Gangadhar, Senior Project Manager, presented on the strategic partnership with JTI, highlighting the critical projects successfully implemented for the esteemed organization.

The testing team, represented by Mr. Arun A, Senior Project Manager, showcased the latest technologies and methodologies adopted in software testing and quality assurance. He emphasized the significant benefits that ChatGPT brings to testers, including its role in test cases and test data generation. Furthermore, he discussed the expansion of Katalon’s automation testing capabilities and the security testing methodologies used.

Following the informative sessions, attendees enjoyed a well-deserved, sumptuous lunch, providing an opportunity for networking and casual discussions. The break also served as a chance for participants to catch a moment to reflect on insightful presentations and engage in meaningful conversations.

Post the heavy lunch, the captivating C2X session on “Team UP” facilitated by Mr. Vivek Sharma and Mr. Ankur Dhanuka was an eye-opener with everyone sitting up and taking notice. The session comprised various team-building activities designed to enhance collaboration, communication, and teamwork to help the employees bond better.
